News: Price of resale property in Spain drops in 2016
The price of second-hand property in Spain fell by 0.7% in 2016 to 1,552 euros per square metre. Nevertheless, some sources report that there was a price increase of 1.3% in the third quarter of the year.
According to real estate experts, the value of second-hand housing in Spain is starting to go back to normal with a clear positive trend, despite the slight year-on-year decline.
By Autonomous Communities, the highest increase has been recorded in the Canary Islands, where the price of second-hand homes is now 7.8% higher than a year ago. Behind it are the increases in the Balearics (5.3%), Catalonia (3%), Valencia and Costa Blanca (2.5%), Andalusia (1.5%) and Madrid (1.1%).
The Costa Blanca in the Comunidad Valenciana is one of the regions with the cheapest prices for used homes with an average price of 1,186 euros per square metre.
