News: Orihuela Costa is starting point to the ninth stage of La Vuelta
The mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana, has presented the ninth stage of the Vuelta Ciclista a España under the name "Orihuela, city of poet Miguel Hernández / Cumbre del Sol. Poble Nou de Benitatxell". The mayor was accompanied by Tourism Deputy Eduardo Dolón and the Councilor for Sports, Víctor Valverde.
Orihuela Costa is hosting this Sunday August 27 the start of this stage which is part of one of the main sporting events in the whole of Spain and abroad. The event will be broadcast live through different media in 190 countries.
On Sunday at 1 pm the 22 teams competing in "La Vuelta" will be departing from Playa de la Glea in Campoamor, where different activities for the whole family will be offered.
The security measures and emergency services deployed on the occasion of this sports event will be active from Saturday at 1 pm until Sunday at 9 pm. Security forces from the Guardia Civil, National Police, Local Police, Fire Brigade and Civil Protection will be present in the area.
The Ronda de Campoamor and the Avenida de Las Adelfas will remain closed to traffic from Saturday 26 August 1 pm until Sunday 27 August 9:00 p.m. You may check out alternative routes by calling Local Police on 649 900 304.
