Ciudad Quesada

Ciudad Quesada is located next to the typical Spanish town of Rojales, south of the Alicante province, just 8 kilometers north from the major town of Torrevieja and a 10 minutes´ drive to the beautiful beaches of Guardamar del Segura.

Ciudad Quesada was created by businessman Justo Quesada Samper in the 1970´s when he decided to design and build his own town. The urbanisation started to flourish and it finally became a very stylish and quiet town where many families from all over Europe have their permanent and seasonal residences. The ambitious project of more than 15,000 homes turned into a great residential development with more than 30,000 properties built around a fantastic golf course.

The weather in Ciudad Quesada is the typical Costa Blanca weather, so get ready for those summer long days and barbecues at night, outdoor activities and sports. When you holiday or live permanently in Ciudad Quesada, you will enjoy the sun and the Mediterranean light most every day since this area boasts more than 320 sunny days a year.

Ciudad Quesada has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, as well an 18-hole golf course and aqua park so it does have its own unique attractions. In Ciudad Quesada you can also find bank offices, chemist, health centre, solicitors, hotel, spa resort, a Norwegian school and even a Town Hall office. There are also free municipal tennis courts and the lovely Parque Recorral which has picnic benches and many unmarked walking and cycling routes.

The urbanisation is well-designed with good landscaped features and the views are really good. Inland from Ciudad Quesada you have the mountains, while the countryside surrounding this sought-after resort includes orange groves and the salt lakes of Torrevieja.

The golf course in Ciudad Quesada is called La Marquesa and it was designed and founded in 1989 by Justo Quesada. Due to its proximity to Alicante city it quickly reached a significant number of members and initially it was estimated that at least 70% of players from the Alicante province had hit their first balls in the cosmopolitan golf course of La Marquesa.

Many diferent people from many different nationalities have become members of the club and have bonded into a very friendly environment. Throughout the years, the golf course has undergone some technical and design improvements, nevertheless respecting the principle of offering a varied route, where the player can have fun while practising their favourite sport.

Golf lovers can find four more courses in just a short drive, namely La Finca Golf in the nearby town of Algorfa, and Campoamor Golf, Villamartin Golf and Las Ramblas Golf in Orihuela Costa.

There are numerous excellent beaches not far from Ciudad Quesada, such as the award-winning sandy Blue Flag beaches of Guardamar del Segura, Torrevieja and La Mata. These beaches are only a 10 minutes´ drive and in around 20 minutes you can reach many other wonderful beaches in Orihuela Costa, including those of Punta Prima, La Zenia, Playa Flamenca, Cabo Roig and Campoamor.

The high street of Ciudad Quesada is full of bars, cafés and restaurants offering international food including Spanish, Thai, Greek, Chinese, Indian, Italian, French and Swedish. This street is especially busy in the mornings with people going to the shops and enjoying breakfast in the bars´ terraces.
