News: Orihuela Costa beach cleaning intensifies in preparation for Easter
The Councilor for Beaches, Luisa Boné and the Councilor for Road Cleaning and RSU, Dámaso Aparicio, supervised the cleaning work being carried out on Orihuela Costa beaches these days prior to Holy Week, when a high number of tourists is expected to arrive.
Thus, the Department of Road Cleaning has been in charge of the removal of the remains of posidonia deposited on the shores after the winter, which had been kept "as a measure of conservation and environmental protection," said Aparicio.
At the same time, the Department of Road Cleaning has recently intensified the works for the leveling and cleaning of the sand with machinery and materials provided by the Town Hall. These works will be reinforced at Easter with another beach cleaning tractor. In addition, more staff for emptying, cleaning and maintenance of rubbish bins will be made available during Holy Week.
Orihuela Costa is one of the most exclusive areas south of the Costa Blanca. With 17 km of beautiful sandy beaches, surrounded by natural landscapes and coves of turquoise water, enjoying 320 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of 20 °, Orihuela Costa collects all the charms of the Mediterranean Sea.
