News: Orihuela Costa basks in unusually warm autumn temperatures
This September is being unusually warm across much of the Vega Baja as well as on the coastal areas of Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa, where temperatures have exceeded 35º C.
Over the last few days Orihuela Costa temperatures have reached up to 35.6º C while Guardamar del Segura has experienced highs of 31.3º C and Torrevieja registered 30.4º C.
According to meteorology experts, this is not very frequent. The last time that the 35º C mark was exceeded in this part of Spain in autumn was September 23, 1991, with a temperature of 37.6º C. In the whole historical series from 1965 to 2017 there are only four precedents: September 24, 1968 at 40º C, September 25, 1969 at 36º C, September 27, 1986, at 36º C and September 21, 1990 at 36º C.
